● Paver Projects

Four project types, one solid base

Every installation starts with the same properly excavated and compacted base — the project type is about how your outdoor space actually gets used.

Project 01

Patios

Outdoor living space built to handle furniture, grills, and daily foot traffic. Choose from a range of paver styles, patterns, and colors to match your home.

—Concrete, brick, or natural stone pavers

—Custom patterns and borders

—Built for entertaining and everyday use

Project 02

Walkways

Clean, level pathways connecting your driveway, entry, or backyard — set on a compacted base so they stay flat and even year after year.

—Matches existing patio or driveway pavers

—Slip-resistant surface options

—Curved or straight layouts

Project 03

Paver Driveways

A durable alternative to poured concrete with more design flexibility. Individual pavers flex slightly with the ground instead of cracking as a single slab.

—Rated for daily vehicle traffic

—Individual pavers replaceable if damaged

—Wide range of colors and patterns

Project 04

Retaining Walls & Edging

Segmental retaining wall block for grade changes and garden beds, plus clean paver edging to define patios, walkways, and landscaping.

—Engineered for proper drainage

—Tiered wall options for slopes

—Pairs with any paver or concrete project

● Preparation

The prep work most crews skip

Pavers that shift, sink, or develop gaps almost always trace back to what’s underneath them, not the pavers themselves.

Excavation & Base Compaction

We excavate to proper depth, install a compacted road-base gravel foundation, and grade for drainage. A well-compacted base is the single biggest factor in whether a paver installation stays flat and stable through freeze-thaw cycles.

Bedding Sand & Polymeric Joint Sand

Pavers are set on a leveled bedding-sand layer, then joints are filled with polymeric sand that hardens in place to lock pavers together, resist weed growth, and keep insects and erosion out of the joints.

Paver installation questions, answered

How much does paver installation cost?

Pricing depends on square footage, paver style, site access, and how much excavation is needed — patios and walkways are typically more affordable than driveways or retaining walls. We’ll give you an exact number after a quick site visit or photos; use the form on this page for a free estimate.

Most residential patios or walkways are done in 2–4 days depending on size and complexity. Driveways and larger projects with retaining walls can take a week or more.

Not if the base is built correctly. A properly excavated and compacted gravel base is what keeps pavers stable through freeze-thaw cycles — this is where we spend most of our time, since it’s what determines whether the installation lasts.

Yes, paver driveways are rated for daily vehicle traffic when installed with a proper base depth for vehicle loads. They flex slightly with the ground rather than cracking as one rigid slab.

Sweep off debris regularly, rinse as needed, and top off polymeric sand joints every few years as they wear. Sealing is optional but helps resist staining and keeps colors vibrant longer.

Properly installed polymeric sand hardens in the joints and significantly reduces weed growth compared to loose sand. Occasional maintenance may still be needed over time as the sand naturally wears.

Yes — that’s one of the main advantages over poured concrete. A cracked or stained paver can be pulled and swapped individually without redoing the whole surface.

Yes, proper drainage behind a retaining wall is essential to prevent water pressure buildup that can cause the wall to bow or fail over time. We install drainage gravel and pipe behind every wall we build.
